4/12 - Boring!

Today I spent way too much time looking at Insulation to buy for when the plaster goes up for the ceilings. I don't envy the guys putting this stuff in, the walls were bad enough but lifting it continually over your head has got to make you even itchier than what we were doing the wall cavities. Hopefully all of the plaster will be up before Christmas so Nathan can use his time off to get a few things on this extension finished. I cant believe that the only photo today is a screen shot of insulation, talk about a boring day.

3/12 - I WON!

I have become a little addicted to Facebook competitions recently, and finally after months of trying I won a hair clip. The brown clip on the left is my prize which Maddie was pretty pleased to take possession of, and the other clips were just too cute to resist.

We spent the awesome day out at the zoo today for Mum's and Cubs and Maddie got to feed an emu as well as Hummer the Giraffe who I think is her favourite animal at the Zoo. I love the summer, its so nice and warm outside its a shame to have to go inside some days.

2/12 - Christmas Lights

We finally put up some Christmas lights this year, after I pestered for years about getting them, thank you Nathan for hanging the ones that I couldn't. They are so cool, I loved turning them on for the first time last night. I really need to learn how to use the camera a lot better especially of a night time so I can take some better pictures for my blog and because I love night time photos.. Maybe a birthday present - hint hint.

1/12 - Santa

When we pulled into the car park at Majura Park today the radio was telling people that Santa was in the centre this weekend for photo's and of course Maddie heard. That meant our quick dash into BigW and Woolies to get supplies for tonight's lighting up the house BBQ became a much longer trip. I cant say I love her shoe and dress combination that she has going on today, but she was happy with how she looked.

I can not believe how excited Maddie was to see and interact with Santa this year, such a change from the past years we have visited.

30/11 - Painting

With today being the very last day in November, so the day before the Christmas lights have to be ready to go, I thought that we would spend the day putting them up so that we could get ready for tomorrows turning the lights on BBQ. As it turns out, Nathan had other plans, and our once manor red gates are now Surf-mist white. Painting the gates was loads harder than any part of the house that I have done so far, and the worst part is, after all that effort, I really don't like the colour and think that we should have gone with a darker grey. I suppose it is lucky that paint is pretty easy to change if I am still not convinced on the colour in a few months.

29/11 - CSIRO Art Day

We finally got out to the CSIRO art session that we have been meaning to get to all year, only to find out that because of all the government cut backs, that this class will be their last one. Maddie loved making her leaf mobile, leaf rubbing's, and little pipe cleaner trees but didn't interact with any of the other kids which I thought was unusual for her. As we were leaving the class one of the girls that works in the building was getting out the giant stick insects to show the kids, they were big enough that they could be petted, which is gross! Maddie liked it, and thankfully I could stand a few steps back while she did get a close up of the insect. The centre looks like it will be an awesome place to visit when Maddie gets older, so hopefully I remember about it and it doesn't get closed down with their budget cuts.

28/11 - Christmas Crafts

Christmas Craft days are just not the same without Grace and Leah's presence, and its not just me that thinks that way, Maddie asked so many times today if Grace was going to swing by to do her own bauble and paint with her and Hugh. I had planned to attempt to make the kids hand prints into little snowmen ornaments but I was quite happy with keeping it plain once I saw how they printed. There is also a lot less chance of me making them look terrible if I did attempt all the other bits needed.

After their work was finished it was free time painting with paint brushes at first before they decided to do the same as last year and use the paint and paper as a running track. I think the little footprints are super cute, but I am not so sure Nathan will approve of them all over the driveway.
